Paphos Lighthouse is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks.
This white masonry tower with a small lantern on top was the first of its kind in Cyprus.
Built by the British in 1888, it played an important role as a military base, guiding ships through the Suez Canal and safely into Paphos Harbor.
But enough history.
Today, the 20-meter-tall lighthouse stands proudly within Kato Pafos Archaeological Park and mainly serves as a cultural site.
There’s even an old keeper’s house next to it, which is pretty cool if you ask us.
Of course, there isn’t an actual keeper anymore. The system is now fully automated and runs on solar power.

Now, while you can’t go inside it (bummer, we know), don’t let that stop you.
You can still get up close and enjoy the scenic surroundings, take a romantic stroll, and snap a few photos.
We recommend visiting around sunset, as that’s when the magic truly happens!
The entrance fee, if you’re wondering, is 4.5 euros per person. Or, you can book a scooter tour, which also covers the ticket price.
If the archaeological park isn’t your thing, you can catch a good look at the lighthouse from the new Paphos Boardwalk.
Bonus: this path also leads you straight to Lighthouse Beach—a beautiful sandy stretch not far from Tombs of the Kings Avenue.
How to Get to Paphos Lighthouse
Bus
To get to the archaeological park, take bus route 611 from the Tombs of the Kings Main Bus Station, route 610 from the Municipal Market, or route 606 from Yerouskipou.
Taxi
A taxi from Paphos to the harbour typically costs 10-12 euros, while a ride from Yeroskipou or Chloraka is usually 12-15 euros.
Car
In case you have a car, you can find free parking inside the harbour, and there are usually free spaces available on the street as well.
