The Edro III Shipwreck is located off the coast of Peyia, just a half-hour drive from Paphos.
This impressive cargo ship, built in Norway in 1966, stretches over 80 meters in length and weighs between 2,300-2,500 tons.
While we don’t recommend climbing or going inside, you can still get close and take in its captivating sight.
Many tours also make a quick stop here, offering a great opportunity for capturing unforgettable pictures!
What Happened to the Edro III Shipwreck?
The Edro III’s story took a dramatic turn on December 8, 2011, while it was on its way from Limassol to Rhodes.
A storm pushed the ship off course, leaving it stuck on the rocks at a slight angle near the shore.
Luckily, all nine crew members were rescued by a local helicopter.
However, despite several attempts to free the ship, it was eventually decided to leave it in place.
By 2013, the hull had been waterproofed, and all pollutants, including fuel, had been removed to ensure that the shipwreck no longer posed any environmental risk.
Currently, there are no plans to move it.

Alternatively, you can stop by the kiosk for some juice and ice cream.

How to Get to the Edro III Shipwreck
Bus
Unfortunately, there are no bus stations in this area, so your best options are to drive yourself or join a day trip.
If you like, you can also take a taxi or walk all the way from Coral Bay, which is about 3km away.
To get to Coral Bay from Paphos, catch route 615 from Tombs of the Kings Main Bus Station.
Taxi
A taxi from Paphos to the Edro III Shipwreck typically costs 28-30 euros, while a ride from Peyia or Coral Bay is usually 10-12 euros.
Car
In case you have a car, follow road E701 to Coral Bay. There’s free parking next to the restaurant.
