Agora Tavern

agora tavern

When we first moved to Paphos, Agora Tavern was one of the first places we checked out.

This tavern is located right next to the Old Town Market and features a mix of modern and vintage design, with seating available both indoors and outdoors.

Since we had our dog with us, we sat outside on the terrace. And wow—the panoramic sea view was definitely a nice bonus.

However, keep in mind that the restaurant can get pretty busy, so it’s best to play it safe and make a quick reservation over the phone.

The Menu

Agora Tavern does things a bit differently.

They don’t have a menu. Instead, they offer only meze, which are small, traditional dishes designed for sharing, similar to tapas in Spain.

You can choose between a meat or vegetarian option, and even skip the pork or cheese.

They also offer a mini meze for lunch if you’re in the mood for something lighter.

agora tavern food

We went for the full meat meze, which included 14 plates, plus a big bowl of salad and a delicious hummus with pita bread.

Everything was fresh and flavorful, but we expected more food for a group of five.

Also, they don’t have ketchup, in case you have kids with you.

The Prices

It’s worth noting that the prices have gone up slightly since our visit.

Currently, the meze deal is 28 euros per person. Also, drinks aren’t included, and the wine can be somewhat expensive.

That said, Agora Tavern is still a good choice if you’re looking for a cozy spot with great food and fantastic service.
