Lately, we were looking for a good coffee shop, and every time we asked around, one name kept popping up: Love Island Cakes.
So, when my friend had a birthday, we knew we had to check it out for ourselves!
This sweet haven for cake and caffeine lovers is located in the heart of Kissonerga village, a short 15-minute drive from Paphos.
While it’s definitely worth the drive and has plenty of seating inside and out, you can also find them on Foody and Wolt.
The Menu
Though Love Island Cakes specializes in wedding cakes, they offer much more than that.
The first thing that caught my eye was the cake display, which was bigger (and prettier) than I expected!
We decided to settle in with some coffee and, of course, cake. My friend ordered a hot latte, while I got a cold frappe.
Both, by the way, were delicious.
For cakes, I went with the baked apple cheesecake, and My friend, who’s a chocolate fan, took the chocolate cake with salted caramel buttercream.
Again, delicious. But we didn’t stop there!
This bakery is also known for its fresh cream and strawberry jam sugary doughnuts, so naturally, we had to try it.
It was everything a doughnut should be—soft, fluffy, and filled with the most luscious jam and cream.
Other than that, they have creamy cupcakes, smoothies and milkshakes, as well as a small selection of deli items, including sandwiches and salads.
Perhaps we’ll give them a go next time!
The Prices
What’s great about Love Island Cakes, besides the cakes and coffee, is how affordable everything is.
You can enjoy a large hot latte or cappuccino for just 3.40 euros, and their cold coffee options range between 2.75-3.50 euros (my frappe was a bargain at 3 euros!).
A slice of cake, on the other hand, ranges from 3.25-4.50 euros, while the signature doughnut is only 2.80 euros.
If you’re in the mood for a cupcake and a shake, they’re priced at 3.30-4.95 euros each.
How to Get to Love Island Cakes
Bus
To get to Love Island Cakes using public transportation, take bus route 607/607B from Karavella Main Bus Station.
From Universal area, simply catch route 603 to Karavella and then switch to route 607/607B.
You can also catch route 610 from Paphos Harbour to the Municipal Market, walk a bit to Karavella, and then switch to route 607/607B.
Similarly, from Tombs of the Kings Main Bus Station, look for route 618 and then switch to route 607 at Karavella.
Lastly, if you’re coming from Yeroskipou, hop on route 613 and then switch to route 607/607B.
Taxi
A taxi from Paphos to Love Island Cakes typically costs 15-20 euros, while a ride from Chloraka, Emba, or Coral Bay is usually 10-12 euros.
Car
In case you have a car, follow road E706 to Kissonerga. There’s free parking right outside the building.
