If you’re looking for affordable, tasty Greek food, Pitta Express should be at the top of your list.
This restaurant is located in the Old Town and is our favorite spot for souvlaki. They also have outdoor seating, though we usually go for delivery.
Perfect for those lazy nights when you don’t want to cook!
You can either use Foody, Wolt, or Bolt Food, or just head straight through their website to schedule an order or reserve a table.
The Menu
The menu at Pitta Express has all the Greek classics: starters, salads, pittas, kebabs, and more.
We highly recommend their chicken and lamb kebab, especially with Greek or Cypriot pitta.
The souvlaki here is hands down the best we’ve had in Paphos—tender, juicy, and flavorful. Plus, the pittas are fresh, although the big ones tend to open up and get a bit messy.
This is common with most Cypriot pittas, so it’s not a dealbreaker.
But that’s not all!
Their tahini is spot-on, not too much, not too little. You can even load up on homemade fries and fresh veggies like cabbage, parsley, onion, tomato, and cucumber.
We occasionally ask for pickles, but they don’t always make it into the order.
The potato wedges are also good, but you’ll need to buy them separately.
If you’re into gyros and burgers, it’s worth a try, however, there are likely better options out there.
In addition, we’ve had the rocket salad and a jacket potato with mushrooms.
The rocket salad was a bit heavy on the balsamic vinegar, whereas the jacket potato was smaller than expected.
The Prices
Pitta Express offers great value for money.
A Greek pita with chicken kebab and fries costs around 5.5 euros, while lamb kebab is slightly cheaper.
If you want a larger pita, it will be 8 euros, and potato wedges are an extra 3.5 euros.
Other dishes, such as burgers, range from 10-13.5 euros, salads are between 6.5-8 euros, and jacket potatoes are mostly 5 euros.
How to Get to Pitta Express
Bus
To get to Pitta Express using public transportation, take bus route 603 from Tombs of the Kings Main Bus Station or Universal area.
If you’re near Karavella Main Bus Station, you’ll need to catch bus route 602. Alternatively, if you’re at Paphos Harbour, catch route 611 to Karavella and then switch to route 603.
From Yeroskipou, simply hop on bus route 613.
The bus stops are within a 5-minute walk from the restaurant.
Taxi
A small taxi from Paphos to Pitta Express typically costs 10-12 euros, while a cab from Yeroskipou or Chloraka is usually 12-15 euros.
Car
If you have a car, you can park on the street or in one of the public parking spaces or lots near Pitta Express.
