We found Ta Mpania (also known as Ta Bania or Τα Μπάνια) during our first trip to Paphos and have been coming back ever since.
This place, which is located right on the promenade, isn’t just a restaurant.
During the day, it doubles as a café with fantastic breakfast options, and by night, it turns into a lively lounge bar packed with young tourists.
However, it can get quite busy, and the service might be slow sometimes.
Luckily, there’s plenty of seating both inside and outside, where you can enjoy the sea breeze and view while you wait.
The Menu
The menu at Ta Mpania is pretty diverse.
They’ve got everything from grilled meats and hearty breakfasts to fresh salads and some Greek classics like moussaka and beef stifado.
There are also sections for sandwiches, pasta, pizzas, and seafood, and if you have kids with you, there’s a special menu for them, too.
Plus, there’s a bunch of drinks and mouthwatering desserts.
We also love that they have allergen symbols next to each dish – super helpful!
We’ve tried a few things on the menu, and the standout for us was definitely the lamb chops.
They’re served with a minty sauce and mashed potatoes, though we swapped the mash for fries.
We also had a burger, which was decent, and a mojito that turned out to be stronger than we expected.
They’ve also got a nice beer and wine selection, along with various types of coffee.
The Prices
To be honest, prices at Ta Mpania can be a bit steep.
For example, a chicken kebab costs nearly 15 euros, while lamb chops are just over 18 euros. If you’re really hungry, there’s a meat platter for 20 euros per person.
Breakfasts are more wallet-friendly, usually up to 8 euros, whereas salads and house specialties start at 11.5-14.5 euros.
Also, the sandwiches, pasta, and pizzas are around 10-13.5 euros, with the fish platter being 23 euros per person. Kids’ meals, on the other hand, average about 8 euros.
If you add a cocktail or dessert, you’ll be looking at an extra 7-10 euros.
How to Get to Ta Mpania
Bus
To get to Ta Mpania using public transportation, take any bus route heading to Paphos Harbour Main Bus Station.
This includes routes like 610 from the Old Town Market and 611 from Tombs of the Kings and Yeroskipou.
From Universal, you’ll need to catch bus route 603 to Tombs of the Kings and then switch to route 611.
Taxi
A small taxi from Paphos to Ta Mpania typically costs 10-12 euros, while a cab from Yeroskipou or Chloraka is usually 12-15 euros.
Car
In case you have a car, you can park for free in the lot near the marina and walk approximately 8 minutes to Ta Mpania.
